HISTORY lovers can enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at one of the region’s most iconic theatres this autumn.
The rich history of Darlington’s Civic Theatre will be laid bare during guided tours taking place in September.
Heritage tours of the historic venue will see visitors invited to explore the theatre and learn about its past.
The tours will take in every corner of the Civic, from its supposedly haunted dressing rooms to the wings and other areas usually off-limits to audience members.
The Darlington Civic Theatre Heritage Tours will take place from Friday, September 11 until Sunday, September 13.
On Sunday, September 13 families are invited to take an interactive tour at 11am while visitors can enjoy a comprehensive backstage tour with theatre consultant Dr David Wilmore from 3pm.
There will be the opportunity to view plans for the theatre’s upcoming restoration.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance by calling 01325 486555.
