A GROOM took an unusual form of transport to his wedding at the weekend - arriving by tractor.

Gareth Leonard tied the knot with long-term partner Kelly Ogleby at St Andrew's Church, in Sadberge, near Darlington, on Saturday (August 22).

The supermarket baker, 27, raised the dough to pay for an agricultural theme for his wedding, as he comes from a farming family.

He was accompanied by his father Ian, best man Chris Currie and sons Alfie, six, and four-year-old Harry.

Bride Kelly, meanwhile, arrived in more traditional wedding transport – a swish Jaguar.

The couple, who live in Middleton One Row, have been together for nine years.

Mother of the groom Christine Leonard had the idea for the tractor transportation.

She said: "In the run-up to the wedding, we were looking on the internet for a photographer and came across Darlington-based Camera A, which has some tractor shots in its website gallery.

"The idea grew from there, Gareth really like the idea and thought it was something different, because his dad had a smallholding at Sadberge."
