A FLEDGLING log-cutting and sculpting company has celebrated after winning a best trade stand award at the Great Yorkshire Show.

Fieldhouse Logs, run by Ben Rennison, at Cleasby near Darlington, was started three years ago when Mr Rennison decided to make sure of the large amount of quality wood on his family farm.

As well as providing dry and seasoned hard and softwood logs, the company also creates bespoke furniture and sculptures.

Mr Rennison said: “We have a very talented craftsman who works for us hand-carving the sculptures and wooden furniture, alongside our fabricator who does the structural steel work.

“We are really lucky to have such a talented team who work together to produce our designs, and our furniture has been getting a lot of attention so Fieldhouse Living was born to complement the logs business.

“We also run Fieldhouse Landscaping working with the council, schools, businesses and private homes so we have a very busy schedule.”

He added: “When we won the award for best trade stand at the Great Yorkshire Show we were so proud, as all of the team have worked so hard to pull it all together.

“We thought the stand looked great and the crowds responded well to all our work so we were extremely happy to have been recognised for this by the stewards and organisers.

“Being a small business it was a big step to take for our first show but we pulled it off and hopefully you will be seeing us there next year.”
