A ROCK’N’ROLL day in the park awaits visitors to Darlington this weekend.

Some of the region’s best live acts will take to the stage as part of the upcoming Music on West Park Hill festival.

This Sunday, crowds will descend upon Darlington’s West Park to enjoy sets from a variety of acts including reggae band The Equalisers, the Monster Ceilidh Band and disco trio Iceni.

Fast-rising Hartlepool folk band The Jar Family will headline the main stage while Darlington singer Hayley McKay will join James Robson and Dave Brittle in playing the acoustic stage.

Alongside the live music will be a host of family entertainment including arts and crafts sessions, balloon modelling, storytelling and face painting.

The event, organised by The Forum Music Centre, will run from 1.30pm until 8.30pm on Sunday, August 2. Admission is free.
