TRIPLE Grammy Award nominated singer/songwriter Joan Armatrading is performing in Darlington this month.

The star has multiple musical awards and nominations to her name in a career spanning more than four decades and is stopping in Darlington during her final major world tour.

She will perform hits spanning her whole career, including favourites such as Love and Affection, Willow, Drop the Pilot and Me Myself I.

Armatrading has promised the gig will be a special event, saying: “I will never retire but this will be the last major tour that I will undertake.

“For the first time these concerts will be me solo on stage playing the guitar and piano and singing.

“I want these concerts to be a special, lively, interactive one to one experience.

“I have absolutely enjoyed the last 42 years of performances but now, with my final major tour, I want to capture a unique memory for both myself and the audience.”

She will perform at Darlington Civic Theatre on July 23 and tickets cost from £28.50 from the box office.
