ORGANISERS of an angling event are hoping to reel in fishing enthusiasts from across the region.
Fishing experts will be on hand to offer advice to budding anglers during an open day taking place on Saturday, July 4.
Hosted by Darlington Anglers’ Club, the event will be held at Cleasby Lake, near Stapleton between 10am and 4pm.
Children and beginners are invited to try their hand at freshwater angling while visitors are invited to enjoy a free barbeque and sign up to the club on concessionary terms.
Chris Noble, committee member, said: “The open day will present an excellent insight into the sport for youngsters and novices, while giving seasoned fisherman the opportunity to connect with fellow freshwater anglers.
“Cleasby Lake offers the perfect environment for fishing with its well-established population of fish and recent re-stock of prime trout, which will add to the occasion.”
