A MAN has been talked down after threatening to throw himself off a bridge.

The incident occurred this morning at junction 59 of the A1(M) at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said a man had threatened to throw himself from the bridge, but had been talked down by officers.
The road was closed from about 8am to 8.15am on both carriagways during the incident, causing long delays for motorists.
