A NORTH-EAST hairdresser has shown she is a cut above after being chosen to style hair at London Fashion Week.
Beth Nattress, from Contemporary hair salon, in Darlington, mingled with top stylists and supermodels as she worked on the Hakaan Yildirim show at Somerset House, in London.
The 23-year-old was chosen to work with models at the show alongside Jonny Engstrom, from the Guy Kremer salon, as well as a number of other up-and-coming stylists from across the country.
“It was amazing to be able to see everything that goes on backstage,” she said.
“It was chaotic and non-stop. We were taught how to create the hairstyles, and then just left to crack on with it.
“It was a bit surreal coming back in to work the next day.”
Other hopefuls from Contemporary salons across the region had applied for the role, with Ms Nattress making the cut.
“It was really overwhelming to be chosen, as there were so many other people in the salons that have so much more experience than me,” she said.
“I was really proud to represent Contemporary salons. They really push you and want you to fulfil your potential.
“They really believe in you, and really encourage you.”
Salon owner, Amanda Day said: “Beth has done brilliantly in the time she has been with us. She has worked really hard and we are really proud of her.”
