A MAN who was charged with causing a public nuisance after clambering onto a fourth storey window ledge at the hotel he was staying is to face no further action.
Jordan Lewis Taylor appeared at Teesside Crown Court via a video link and was told the case against him had been discontinued.
The 21-year-old was involved in an incident at the Mercure Darlington Kings Hotel, in Priestgate, Darlington, on August 20 last year, in which police negotiators were called and large sections of the town centre cordoned off.
Prosecutor David Crook said the decision had been taken in the public interest in view of a psychiatric report that had been prepared on the defendant.
Recorder Eric Elliott told Mr Taylor, of Cricklade Road, Swindon, that he could leave without a stain on his character.
