POLICE are urging the public to help them identify nuisance bikers.

There has been a recent surge in the number of reports received about motorbikes and quad bikes causing concern across Darlington.

Police say irresponsible bikers are affecting the quality of residents’ lives and causing danger to the public, animals and themselves.

In response to the growing issue, a dedicated email address has been set up to allow the public to report any issues involving nuisance bikes and riders.

A recent statement from Darlington Neighbourhood Police Teams urged people to get in touch to highlight any incidents, including details such as pictures of bikes and riders, locations, times, dates and descriptions.

Intelligence regarding the identification of offending riders is also welcomed.

The statement said: “Information, particularly in relation to those identified as responsible, will be acted on with robust sanctions being imposed by both ourselves and the council using new anti-social behaviour legislation.”

To report any issues, email asbbikes@durham.pnn.police.uk.
