A HORDE of colourful creatures are being auctioned ahead of a major theatrical festival.
Jabberwockies of all shapes and sizes are being sold in a bid to fund workshops for young people and emerging artists in Darlington.
Artists and members of the public have crafted a host of fantastic creatures ahead of this week’s Jabberwocky Market.
Returning to Darlington for the fourth time, the popular festival will stage ten new performances between Thursday, March 26 and Saturday, March 29.
Producer Caroline Pearce said: “The auction will allow us to fundraise to provide free workshops and keep ticket prices low.
“I really appreciate the people who have donated art – a lot of time and effort has gone into making something for the auction and that means a lot.
“We believe this festival is something special that the people of Darlington deserve and this auction will help to provide them with opportunities to go forward.”
The Jabberwockies are currently being auctioned online with bids still being accepted.
Winners will be announced at the festival’s Scratch Night, taking place on Thursday, March 26.
