THE jury in a kidnap and false imprisonment trial will retire to consider its verdicts on Monday.
Recorder Tahir Khan completed his summing up of the case this afternoon (Friday) and adjourned for the weekend.
Earlier, prosecutor Shaun Dodds and Rod Hunt, defending, made their closing speeches to the jury.
Christopher Burton, 34, of Brierton Lane, Hartlepool, denies charges of kidnapping and imprisoning drug dealer David Foster, 27.
Mr Foster says he was snatched from a taxi and held in a shipping container on a Darlington industrial estate.
Three other men Anthony Cooper, 30, Bamburgh Place, Darlington, Jonathan Lockey, 25, of Bullamoor Road, Northallerton, and Damian Mottram, 29, of Teesway, Darlington, have admitted false imprisonment, and will be sentenced after the trial.
