DARLINGTON residents with autism and learning difficulties are being offered support in registering to vote ahead of the general election.
Dimensions, a national not-for-profit care provider, is opening up its Darlington office for the people it supports and others on National Voter Registration Day, on February 5.
Staff will be on hand to help with the online registration process and can also check if someone is already registered to vote. The initiative, dubbed Love Your Vote was launched with the Houses of Parliament outreach service in October 2013 after Dimensions found that less than 10 per cent of people it supports had voted in the previous election.
To take advantage of the support, visit the Dimensions’ office at Enterprise House, Valley St, Darlington between 9am and 5pm on February 5, or visit dimensions-uk.org/registertovote
You will need your national insurance number
