THIEVES stole ten chickens in a fowl incident this weekend.
Police are appealing for information following the theft of the Black Rock chickens, taken from an allotment to the rear of Middleton Lane in Middleton-St-George, Darlington.
It is believe the incident was targeted as a number of other chickens were left at the property.
PC Paul Dickinson said: “This breed of chicken is quite uncommon and they’re fairly top end as far as chickens go.
“They’ve been targeted, this isn’t a random thing – nothing else has been touched.”
Anyone with information about the theft or who may have been approached by anyone selling chickens is asked to contact Darlington Police on non-emergency number 101 quoting incident DHM-25012015-0098.
