EYE-CATCHING artwork will greet visitors to Darlington Town Hall this week as a new exhibition gets underway.
The paintings, by 71-year-old artist, James Quinn, will be on display in the town hall until Friday, March 13.
Originally from the south, Mr Quinn chose to spend his retirement in Darlington, where he is a member of Darlington Arts Society.
“I always wanted to be an artist and to paint but life got in the way. When I retired I started to paint again, to please myself,” he said.
“Then life took a different turn and I decided to move from the south of England to the north and chose Darlington as my retirement home.”
The newly-launched exhibition space opened with support from Creative Darlington.
It offers local artists a chance to promote their work and gives people the chance to engage with the arts as part of their everyday life.
Any artists or groups interested in exhibiting in the town hall can call Creative Darlington manager Stephen Wiper on 01325 388396 or email stephen.wiper@darlington.gov.uk
