A CLASSIC fairytale will be brought to life by pupils from a Darlington dance school this week.

Little Red Riding Hood will be set to original music and performed by students from the Rachel V Harrison School of Dance on Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20.

The much-loved tale will be staged as part of the school’s biannual show and will be told through the medium of ballet while the second part of the show will focus on other disciplines including tap and modern dancing.

Dress rehearsals for the show, which will see around 50 students of all ages perform, took place at Polam Hall School’s Liddiard Theatre today (Sunday, December 14).

The school’s founder, Rachel Harrison said: “Everyone’s really enjoyed working hard on the show and they’ve all been excited to see their costumes for the first time.

“It’s lovely to see it all coming together after all the hard work since auditions in September.

“The whole school has been involved and each group is telling a different part of the story, it’s been nice for the children.

“Everyone’s had chance to join in and it’s going to be magical when it all comes together.”

Little Red Riding Hood will be performed at The Liddiard Theatre, Polam Hall School this weekend.

Tickets cost £10 and are available at the door or by visiting rvhschoolofdance.co.uk.

The part of Little Red Riding Hood will be danced by ten-year-old Isabelle Bryant and the Wolf will be performed by Lauren Horsman, 17.
