AN exhibition on loan from the National Portrait Gallery in London will be displayed at Darlington’s Head of Steam museum until December 14.
‘Murder and Mystery Writers: Past and Present’ features contemporary photographs of crime writers by award-winning photographer Nicola Kurtz, and Victorian photographic works of authors such as Charles Dickens, and Arthur Conan Doyle.
Local schools have been working with the museum as part of a Tees Valley wide project called ‘Making a Mark’, and have been inspired to write their own murder-mystery stories.
Darlington crime writer John Dean has been working with the students and is represented in the exhibition.
Sarah Gouldsbrough, learning and access officer for Head of Steam said: “Working with the National Portrait Gallery has been an amazing opportunity for our local schools and we’re really thrilled to be hosting work from the National Portrait Gallery.”
