DOZENS of youngsters have enjoyed a big Brownie party to celebrate the organisation’s 100th birthday.

Around 130 Brownies from the Darlington Stephenson Division descended on Adventure Point, in Morton Park, where they were treated to a party tea with cake and more than an hour on the soft play.

The event rounded off a year of activities celebrating the organisation’s centenary, including trips away and giant sleepovers.

Holly Maxey, centre manager at Adventure Point, said it was one of the biggest parties the soft play venue has held since its opening in 2008.

“It went really well, it was quite busy and all the children really enjoyed it,” she said.

“They had what we call a rainforest romp. They all had party food and a big cake, which they all got to take a piece home.

“They loved our coconut tree climber – they didn’t want to leave.”
