A FIREWOOD business owner has hit upon an artistic way of diversifying – creating intricate sculptures out of logs.
Ben Rennison, who runs Fieldhouse Logs, in Cleasby, near Darlington, has teamed up with Lukas Beben to create a series of bespoke centrepieces.
The pair say the sky is the limit when it comes to what they can sculpt, with recent projects having included an owl, a horse and a customer's father.
Mr Rennison supplies the logs and Mr Beben creates the time-consuming sculptures.
The pair hope to take their sculptures into local schools, in an attempt to showcase their skills.
Mr Rennison, 23, said: "I've been selling firewood for two years and it's gone really well.
"The carving is a new venture for us, we decided to give it a go."
The sculptures were displayed at Eggleston Show, in Teesdale, last weekend, and proved a hit among potential customers.
A website about the carvings will go live shortly.
In the meantime, more information is available via fieldhouselogs.co.uk
