A GROUP of former students of what is now a sixth-form college reminisced about old times during an emotional reunion in Darlington.

The class of 1960 from the former Darlington Boys' Grammar School returned to their alma mater, now Queen Elizabeth (QE) Sixth Form College, earlier this month

A group of 12 ‘old boys’ from the class of 1960 returned to QE for an afternoon of reminiscing.

They also had the chance to assess the refurbishment and extensions that have taken place at the buildings, on the site in Vane Terrace, in recent years.

The former classmates travelled from all over the country, even from as far afield as France and Canada, to meet up and re-live their school days.

The hall and the honours boards were of great interest, but the highlight for many was the visit to the clock tower and organ loft, where numerous stories were recounted about their exploits.

Former student Alan Curry organised the reunion.

He said the visit was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
