A TEAM of young footballers have put their best foot forward to complete a sponsored walk for charity.
The under 10 Spraire Lasses, based in Darlington, completed the walk around the town on Saturday (August 16) to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charity, which provides accommodation for parents of children undergoing hospital treatment.
The charity walk was the youngsters’ way of saying thank you to the fast-food chain, whose restaurant in Morton Park, Darlington, provided the team with a new football kit for the start of their first ever season.
Lisa Forster, business manager at the restaurant, paid for the kits.
She said: “One of our staff members runs the team and said he needed some help getting kits.
“We always try and help in the community wherever we can, and in return they have raised money for our chosen charity.
“Some of the kids have raised more than £100, which is brilliant.
“We try and help the communities we are in, as it is always nice to give something back.”
She said the restaurant can offer help and support to other community groups in Darlington.
