ORGANISERS of an annual charity golf tournament are teeing up for the 13th event in the series.
Heritage Healthcare has raised more than £150,000 for St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington since it first launched its golf tournament 12 years ago.
Despite inclement weather, last year’s Golf Day saw 26 teams competing, raising £14,580 for the Hospice, and organisers are hoping that 13 proves a lucky number for the event.
Heritage Healthcare director and event organiser Sally Pickersgill said: “Most of us know someone who has been affected by a life-limiting illness and the work the Hospice does is invaluable to patients and their family and friends.
“Our Golf Day is a wonderful way to raise a substantial amount of money and have a fun time, although the tournament is always fiercely fought.
“I’d encourage as many people as possible to get involved by either entering a team, through sponsorship or donating a prize to make our thirteenth event the best yet.”
The golf day takes place on September 5 at Blackwell Grange Golf Club, Darlington.
It costs £200 to enter a team of four, which includes the 18 hole Stableford Tournament, including nearest the pin and longest drive competitions, bacon roll on arrival, a meal after the game and a team photograph.
Sponsorship of a tee is available for £150.
Anyone wishing to register a team, make a donation, offer sponsorship or provide goods for the auction or raffle prize, should contact Sally Pickersgill by emailing sally@fairwaysgsp.co.uk
