RUNNERS are being encouraged to don their habit and sprint with their sisters in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
The charity 5k Nun Run will take place at 11am at South Park, in Darlington, on Sunday, October 5 and participants are urged to dress in traditional nun’s attire, although this is not essential.
The event is sponsored by Northumbrian Water and will feature an appearance from the GNAAS mascot Miles the Bear. Music will be provided by Star Radio.
The event was the idea of members of Darlington Operatic Society, who will also be taking part in the run.
The group is preparing for a production of Sister Act, a musical featuring the adventures of soul singer living undercover in a convent.
Entry to the race is £10.
