A MAN has been warned he faces prison after he admitted two charges of child abduction.
Sean Lancaster will be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court next month once background reports are prepared.
The 26-year-old, of Main Road, Gainford, near Darlington, was given bail until his appearance on August 29.
He pleaded guilty to twice keeping the youngster out of the lawful control of her family in early April this year.
His barrister, Lorraine Mustard, told the court yesterday that there was "nothing sinister" about the offences.
She said Lancaster has an IQ of 54, and told Judge Simon Bourne-Arton, QC: "There is an awful lot of mitigation."
The judge told Lancaster: "You have had the good sense to plead guilty and you will be given appropriate credit.
"The fact I am ordering a report should not lead you to the view that anything other than custody will be considered."
Lancaster, formerly of Wilson Street, Hartlepool, will be on a curfew between 8pm and 7am until he is sentenced.
