Darlington Mayor, Councillor Gerald Lee
MAYORS from across the region will gather for a church service this weekend.
Fifteen North-East mayors will join the Bishop of Jarrow for a Civic Church Service in honour of Darlington’s mayor, Councillor Gerald Lee.
The mayors – and their consorts – will wear their chains of office for the service, which will include a performance from Darlington opera singer Janet Walke and hymns sung by members of the junior church.
The event will take place at St Michael’s Church in Heighington on Sunday, July 27 from 9.30am.
Refreshments will be served in the Village Hall afterwards.
