A REWARD is being offered for the safe return of two pet ferrets stolen from a Darlington shed.
The ferrets, Sandy and Polo, were taken from a shed in the back garden of a Coniscliffe Road home overnight on Friday (November 15) and their owner Neil Willis is offering £50 for their return.
The ferrets have been in the Willis family since Mr Willis’s children, now grown up, brought them home from school five years ago.
The thieves ignored several items of garden equipment and tools and only took the ferrets.
Mr Willis said that stealing people’s pets was a “despicable” thing to do.
He added: “To be honest I felt sick when I realised the door was open and they had gone.
“We just want them back, even if they’re returned anonymously.”
Anybody with information about the ferrets’ whereabouts should contact Darlington Police on the non-emergency 101 number.
