A TENNIS doubles tournament at Hummersknott Academy, which saw students triumph over teachers, raised £150 for St Teresa’s Hospice.
Staff from various Darlington businesses also took part in the hotly-contested competition which was won by students Jess Hartley, 16, and Rory Gaydon, 15.
John-Paul Stabler of St Teresa’s Hospice visited the school today (Thursday, September 19) to collect the cheque from Rory.
Stephen Cheeseman, Hummersknott active manager, said he hopes the tournament will become an annual event.
He added: “Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it was fantastic evening in aid of a very good cause.”
