The trees will be chipped and used as mulch by Darlington Borough Council’s grounds maintenance team.

Last year, about 600 trees were taken to collection points across Darlington.

There are 12 Christmas tree collection points: South Park - Bedford Street entrance; Homebase, Darlington Retail Park; North Park; B & Q, Whessoe Road; Sugar Hill Park - Prior Street entrance; Water Park, Middleton St. George; Hurworth Grange Community Centre; Town Farm Field, Sadberge; Eastbourne Park; Rockwell Pastures, Heighington - Village Hall car park; Charnwood Drive, Faverdale and the Household Waste Recycling Centre, in Whessoe Road.
