HERE’S LOOKING AT YOU: Finalists in the Miss Durham on contest at Sedgefield Racecourse
ORGANISERS have announced the lineup of finalists to battle it out to be named Miss Durham.
The competition is in its eighth year and 24 women will compete for top spot at Sedgefield Racecourse next month.
The event is a qualifying heat for Miss England and will be split into three catwalk sections – a day at the races, fancy dress and evening wear.
Sarah Thewlis, the racecourse’s commercial executive, said: “We received a lot of applications to take part and it was a hard job to decide on the final line-up.
“The atmosphere on the night will be great and the judges are not only looking for smiles, but personality too.
“We want someone who really wants to win the title.”
Last year’s winner was Clara Belle, who went on to compete for the Miss England title.
The Miss Durham contest is on Saturday, March 31, with the first round at 7.30pm and doors open from 6.30pm.
