A CHARITY offering horse riding lessons to disabled people has received a financial boost.
Members of Bishop Auckland Methodist Church presented a cheque for £1,910 to the Wear Valley Riding for Disabled Association, which was raised during its Christmas Crib appeal.
Every year, the church puts up a Christmas crib and nativity scene at the entrance to Morrisons supermarket, in Bishop Auckland, to raise money for local charities.
The money was presented to the latest benefactor during the church’s Sunday service this week.
Kath Scales, chairwoman of the Wear Valley Riding for Disabled Association, which is based in Escomb, said: "The trustees, riders and volunteers of the association are very grateful for the efforts made by the Methodist church and to the customers of Morrisons who contributed so much."
