A HOSPICE will mark its 15th anniversary with a special event later this month.
The Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland will celebrate its achievements on Friday September 24, with a party at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield.
Today the hospice is recognised as a centre of excellence providing many services to people across south Durham and the dales.
Its work includes day care, palliative home care, outreach day hospices at community hospitals at Stanhope, Sedgefield and Barnard Castle and care to patients suffering from heart failure and multiple sclerosis.
The celebration event will begin with a drinks reception at 7pm, followed by a three course dinner with coffee at 8pm and live entertainment until 12.30am.
