Museum hosts trikes and bikes day

BIKE fanatics are being invited to display their vehicles at a trikes and bikes day.

The event takes place at Locomotion: The National Railway Museum, in Shildon, on Sunday, August 15, from 10am to 5pm.

The exhibition is open to motorcycles and bikes of all ages and descriptions.

One vehicle already registered for the event is a three-wheeler Citroen Special, built by its owner from Citroen 2CV parts and a 1978 Honda CB400N Superdream, and restored to the original specification with no modern additions.

Tony Attle, education officer at the museum, said: "We are looking forward to welcoming a range of motorbikes and trikes to our event.

"There are some interesting links between motorcycles and the railways."

For information, or to register a vehicle, call Pam Porter, the museum’s events officer, on 01388-771445 or email: pam.porter@nrm.org.uk.
