A LONG serving dental practice in Shildon has relocated after outgrowing its previous headquarters.
The Ashby and Atkinson Dental Practice opened new premises on Main Street today after moving from Church Street, where dentists Simon Ashby and Steven Atkinson had operated for 19 years.
The new site has more space, modernised facilities, four surgeries spread over two floors, and a state-of-the-art sterilising room.
There will be smoking cessation facilities, and an oral health promotion team working in the community.
NHS application forms will be available in February.
Mr Ashby said: "We are delighted to be bringing such a great new facility to the town. Our aim is to make NHS dental care more accessible to members of the community who have often had to travel outside the area in the past, due to a shortage of dentists."
