POLICE in the Bedale area are holding a series of security marking events to help residents protect their property from thieves.
Officers will be travelling around the area in the mobile police office offering crime prevention advice and helping people register their belongings on the Immobilise database.
The mobile police station will be at the following locations:
* Sunday - Bedale Hall car park, from 10am to 1pm; Kingfisher Drive, Aiskew, from 2pm to 4pm.
* Monday - Pickhill Primary School, from 10am to 11am; West Tanfield village hall, from noon to 1pm; Thornton Watlass village hall.
* Tuesday - Roman Road, Leeming Village, from 9am to 11am; RAF Leeming, opposite the Spar store, from noon to 1pm; Bedale Leisure Centre, from 2pm to 4pm.
Community support office Bryan Tongue, of Bedale police, said: “The focus of these events will be to security etch pedal cycles and to encourage people to use the Immobilise property security system which protects personal belongings.
“It is free to use and helps reunite lost or stolen items with the rightful owner as quickly as possible.”
