With interest in ancestry and family history on the rise people who want to delve into their past are being offered tips on how to go about it by an expert.
Ancestry in the Archives is a three-hour session for beginners, led by an experienced family history tutor, at the County Records Office in Northallerton on Saturday, February 6.
The session, which begins at 10am, will include advice on how to research family histories, the best ways of using the internet, and a run through of the documentary material available through the Record Office.
The cost of the session, which will also include a behind-the-scenes tour of the Record Office, is £10, including light refreshments.
