Generator fire destroys building

FOUR fire crews were called out last night after a generator caught fire.
A spokeswoman for Durham and Darlington Fire Brigade said fire engines from Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard Castle attended the scene, off the B6277 at Mickleton, at 9.17pm.
Two further fire engines were then despatched and it took almost two hours to deal with the blaze.
The building housing the generator, which measured eight metres by three metres, was severely damaged.
