AN appeal to bring new state-of-the-art MRI scanners to hospitals in Darlington and Bishop Auckland has been boosted.
Bishop Auckland Civic Society and Barnard Castle Rotary have handed over funds of more than £2,300.
The cash, raised at a town quiz and French gypsy jazz evening, will go towards the equipment for Darlington Memorial and Bishop Auckland Hospitals.
Charity manager at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, Pat Chambers, said: “We’re so grateful for these and other generous donations.
“Individuals, organisations and businesses are all stepping up to support our campaign.”
