BALLET stars visited the children's ward in Darlington Memorial Hospital to give patients a special performance of Copéllia.
Prinicpal dancers Phillip Tunstall and Samantha Camejo, who play Franz and Swanhilda, performed a section from the ballet in full costume.
They were joined by ballet mistress Julianne Rice-Oxley who led a demonstration with 12-year-old Lexie West, playing Copéllia, and her sister 10-year-old Lyla West.
The English Youth Ballet will be fundraising during their performances at the Darlington Hippodrome on April 13 and April 14to raise money towards new equipment for the ward.
Sister Jayne Auld, Manager of the children’s ward said, "It’s wonderful that our young patients and their families had this fabulous opportunity to experience professional dance. – we’re very grateful to English Youth Ballet.”
