NEW group exercise timetables have been launched at leisure centres across County Durham.

There are more than 250 weekly group exercise classes on offer across Durham County Council’s (DCC) sites which have seen a recent £76,000 investment in cycle energy bikes at Teesdale, Woodhouse Close, Meadowfield and Abbey leisure centres.

DCC leisure centres offer classes for all ages and abilities. Gentle exercise options are available for beginners to those looking for a more intense workouts.

East Durham resident Kaye Stephenson, who uses a power circuit class, said: “It offers a variety of routines that are designed to test agility, strength and conditioning. I feel I am able to push myself and get the same results without spending countless hours exercising.”
