NHS bosses are urging people in the Vale of York to share their views on developing mental health care that supports patients in the community.
Ahead of a consultation on possible sites for a mental health hospital and other services closing on Monday, Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, which provides mental health services in the area, said it was aware most people wanted to receive the care they need at home.
Ruth Hill, the trust's director of operations, said: “Alongside this we want to make sure that those people who need to spend time in hospital have access to modern, state-of-the-art facilities.
“The trust has some of the best inpatient facilities in the country and this is what we aspire to for people across the Vale of York.”
