A NEW private addiction recovery service for both individuals and businesses has launched in the North-East to tackle the substance misuse and mental health problems in the region.

Recovery4Life is a specialist testing, training and treatment service offering discreet options for individuals and businesses needing support.

The head office is in Gateshead but individuals can choose where and when to access highly personalised treatment programmes, either at home or at one of Recovery4Life’s clinics.

For businesses, the company offers targeted screening and follow up programmes, helping them to support their employees while also managing corporate risks associated with substance misuse and mental health problems.

Speaking of the launch, John Devitt, founder and managing director of Recovery4Life, said: “There has always been a natural reluctance for people to admit that they need help – particularly with issues around, drugs, alcohol and mental health.

"For many, and particularly those in employment, the stigma attached to misunderstandings of these conditions often acts as a barrier to getting help and support, and not everyone has the money or time to check into a ‘celebrity rehab’."

Mr Devitt added: “The North-East is one of the worst regions in the country for substance misuse and mental health problems and yet the current provision offered by local authorities is limited at best.

"We are already using our skills to help people turn around their lives and look forward to making a real difference to the health and happiness of people in the North East in years to come.”
