A SCHEME enabling the public to meet and discuss with health professionals continues this month.

The NHS Better Health Programme has announced its meeting dates throughout October where staff, stakeholders, public and patients can come together.

The public meetings take place across County Durham and North Yorkshire.

They will take place in Stanhope at the Durham Dales Centre on Monday (October 10) from 10am to midday, in Guisborough at Sunnyfield House, on Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm, at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on Thursday from 10am to midday and in Seaham Town Hall on October 17 from 5pm to 7pm.

Later this month meetings will be held in North Ormesby at South Tees CCG on October 18 from 4pm to 6pm, at Catterick Leisure Centre on October 19 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, at Hartlepool's College of Further Education on October 24 from 6pm to 8pm, in Hawes at The Fountain Hotel on October 26 from 5pm to 7pm, at Darlington's Morton Park Training Centre on October 27 from 6pm to 8pm and at South Thornaby Community Centre October 28 from 10am to midday.

Feedback from past events, progress on the programme and developments in care outside of hospital will be discussed.

Unlike in previous engagement phases, the Better Health Programme’s October engagement will not include events in the North Durham CCG area.

This is due to the majority of patients from North Durham using hospital services in Durham, Gateshead and Sunderland rather than in South Tees.

Those who wish to register to attend are advised to do so in advance by calling 01642 745401 or by visiting www.nhsbetterhealth.org.uk
