A TEAM offering support to adults in mental health crisis has been praised.
The group covering north Durham has been accredited as providing good practice and quality care by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Home Treatment Accreditation Scheme.
The crisis resolution and home based treatment team, which forms part of Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, was praised for its newly-adopted written structure for recording sessions.
The structure was described as ‘commendable in ensuring every contact is recorded thoroughly’.
The ‘cohesiveness’ of the team and staff ‘proactively engaging’ with the accreditation process, was also commended.
Team manager Gill Todd said: “The whole team have worked incredibly hard and really engaged with the process and we have received really positive feedback from service users and carers.
“I am very proud of what the team have achieved and confident that we will continue to improve.”
The review took place over a year-long period and looked closely at the way the teams works, from initial involvement through to patient transfers or discharge.
