Tornado Steam Train

Tornado, the Peppercorn Class A1 engine was built in Darlington at a cost of £3 million following an 18-year fundraising campaign by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust.

It made it's first ever journey for fare paying passengers, travelling from York to Newcastle upon Tyne.
