AN attacker who was identified by his pierced nipple was last night starting an 18- month prison sentence.

Adrian Skeen was barechested when he punched another man outside a nightclub in Redcar, east Cleveland.

Doormen gave a description to the police after burly Skeen, 29, fled – including his distinctive body jewellery.

He was arrested nearby and claimed he could not remember what had happened, Teesside Crown Court was told.

Later, Skeen admitted punching the victim – who suffered multiple jaw fractures – but did not know why he did.

Penelope Bottomley, mitigating, said it was an isolated incident and the bookmaker was sorry for his behaviour.

She said father-oftwo Skeen was keen to address worries about his alcohol intake and pay compensation.

But Judge Gillian Matthews jailed him for one-and-a-half years for what she called “a serious matter”.

The judge told him: “While it might not have been premeditated, it was unprovoked.

“The excuse would seem to be that you were completely drunk and could not even remember what you had done.”

Skeen, of Derwent Place, Loftus, east Cleveland, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on May 5.

Richard Wilson, prosecuing, told the court that the victim was having a cigarette outside the Top Deck club when he was struck for no apparent reason.
