POLICE trying to solve a 20-year-old murder mystery say a search of waste ground will continue for the next several days.

Officers and a specialist search team started work at a former allotment site near to Troon Close, in Middlesbrough, as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Donna Keogh.

The 17-year-old vanished from her home in the centre of Middlesbrough on April 18, 1998 and has never been found.

Her disappearance is now being treated as a murder investigation.

Cleveland Police spokesman Will Green said: “The search activity at Troon Close will continue into next week and we would like to thank local residents for their continued support.

“The duration of the search was always going to be dependent on a number of factors which could not be known until work began at the site and so we will continue into next week.”

A website has been set up by police so members of the public can find out more about the investigation – visit www.finddonna.co.uk.
