A MASKED robber armed with a knife threatened a lone shop worker in an attempt to steal cash.
A man wearing a balaclava demanded money from a cashier shortly after 7am on Sunday, May 20, after entering a convenience shop on Clifton Road, in Darlington.
The man took two bottles of wine before running away into Wordsworth Road, towards the Skerne Park estate.
A second man, who was waiting nearby, also ran off with the balaclava-clad raider.
Detective Sergeant John Tyers, from Darlington CID, said: “The victim is understandably shocked and upset following the incident.
Witnesses or anyone with any information on the incident can contact Darlington CID by calling 101 or 01325-742765, quoting incident number 84 of May 20.
