A MAN is facing "inevitable" prison after admitted killing a pensioner who was hit by an off-road motorbike.
Lee Wilkinson, 34, will be sentenced next month after background reports have been prepared on his by a probation worker.
At Teesside Crown Court yesterday, he pleaded guilty to causing the death of John Truscott by dangerous driving in Eston, near Middlesbrough, in April last year.
The 85-year-old pedestrian died in hospital ten days after being hit by the Honda CR250.
David Pears, 20, of Birchington Avenue, in nearby Grangetown, pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving in connection with the incident at an earlier hearing.
Both men will be sentenced on June 18, and Wilkinson, of Moorgate, Eston, was granted bail until then.
His barrister, Rod Hunt, told Judge Simon Bourne-Arton, QC, that he had made "a good and sensible decision" to admit the charge, and added: "The defendant knows he will inevitably have to serve a prison sentence."
