A BUS driver is due to go on trial today accused of causing death by dangerous driving.
An Arriva service bus struck a number of people in Northgate, Darlington, before crashing into the front of the town's Halifax bank on July 7, 2016.
Great-grandmother Eileen Brennan, 82, died following the crash, and another two pedestrians were injured – one of them seriously.

Michael Gilbert has pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and is due at Teesside Crown Court this afternoon.
The 52-year-old, of New Row, Middleton St George, near Darlington, has also pleaded not guilty to a lesser charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The trial - which is expected to last four days - will be heard by Judge Howard Crowson in Court 7.
