A MAN accused of murdering a man who suffered fatal head injuries during an attack is to go on trial.
Paul Ronald Watson, 30, of The Crescent, Chester-le-Street, has entered a ‘not guilty’ plea to a single charge of murder.
He stands accused of killing Michael Price and is going before a jury at Newcastle Crown Court in the summer.
Mr Price, 36, died on Wednesday, January 24, from injuries he sustained during the attack in the Victor Street area of Chester-le-Street in the early hours of Saturday, January 13.
A two week trial date has been fixed to start on Monday, July 16.
Police investigations into the death of Mr Price are continuing.
